"The Inside Shore" uses the idea of the 'delirious' narrative. I was interested in the model of the nineteenth-century explorer, a protagonist not unlike Joseph Conrad's Lord Jim: someone who faces questions of estrangement, re-invention and insanity. The viewer is presented with a environment both familiar and exotic.
